Having started his career at such titles as i-D, British GQ and Arena, James Sleaford became the first fashion director of French GQ in March 2008 and stayed there for nine years, helping to shape men’s fashion in France.

James’ modern approach to styling mixes tailoring with streetwear, original casting and photography to create seductive imagery.

His most recent work includes styling Steve McQueen for the cover of Esquire UK in a collaboration with the photographer Anton Corbijn, as well as a new round of fashion editorials for Hero magazine and Behind The Blinds.

James has worked with leading photographers, including Adama Jallou, Charlotte Hadden, Chloe Orefice, Christophe Berlet, Dan Boulton, Darren Gwynn, John Balsom, Serge Leblon, Umit Savaci and William Waterworth. His commercial clients include Art Fund, Breitling, Farfetch, Jigsaw, L’Oreal & Rolex.
